The Preschool is located at the entrance to the village of Appley, in the Cricket Pavillion, fifteen minutes’ drive from Wellington and Wiveliscombe and one hundred metres from Stawley Village School. There is ample parking for all of our parents and visitors.
The Pavilion looks out on the cricket pitch and surrounding fields and has its own playground. The children benefit from their rural surroundings, exploring nature, and the local area.
Stawley Pre-school provides 30 places for children from the age of two. We offer morning, afternoon or all-day sessions.
As well as an extensive range of opportunities indoors, children have access to our fabulous garden or the cricket field all day, every day.
Swallows Preschool is located in Sampford Arundel Primary School, in the small village of Sampford Arundel, just a few minutes drive from Wellington. There is a large village car park opposite the school, making drop-off and pick-up a breeze.
The preschool is a classroom within the school, in the same building as Class One (Reception to Year Two). There is access to a dedicated area of decking, as well as the school playground, school field, village green and local walks. Secure access to the decking and playground is available all day, every day, which means that the children can choose to mix with the older children from the school when they are on the playground or stay on the decking.
Swallows provides up to 14 places for children from the age of 2 years, nine months.
Since January 2018, Stawley Pre-school has been part of the Wellington Area Rural Federation (WARF), along with Stawley Primary School, Swallows Preschool and Sampford Arundel Primary School. As such, we have strong links with local primary schools and many of our children attend both settings. We are also able to access the wider pool of resources and expertise provided by being part of a larger network.
Our staff, who work across both settings are highly skilled and build fantastic relationships with the children in our care. We know each child very well, which enables us to tailor learning opportunities to each and every child individually.
